The technical characteristics of the rocket allow up to 2kg of payload to be tested under the influence of g-force at the boost phase. Moreover, the avionics systems of the payload can also be tested under microgravity conditions. The SkyHy rocket can additionally be used to test the thermal protection coating and onboard telemetry components of the payload under flight conditions.

A parachute recovery system enables the safe landing of the main body of the rocket and therefore the payload integrated within the launch vehicle.

flight profile

If a launch site is unavailable to use, Skyrora can provide a mobile telemetry kit that will be set up as part of the launch site. There is also the potential for co-investment in equipment to allow for the use of a future launch location.

The telemetry kit tests the key components of the launch infrastructure which will later be used for future launch vehicles. These key components include:

  • Telemetry ground station
  • Antenna and antenna mount
  • Control computer (laptop PC) to communicate with the onboard systems
